With the popularity of social media and advancements in technology to support more agile working across public services, are we protecting opportunities for human ‘connection’ and face to face conversation too? What’s happening to the art of ‘conversation’? We’re curious about what makes us open up to new connections and relationships as we journey through our working lives? And about what might stop us from sparking a conversation with someone we don’t already know…?

What better way to open up this dialogue than on the recently introduced train line between our beautiful Scottish Capital into our beautiful Scottish Borders! Join us to explore your/our highest hopes for Scotland in 2020 around building connections and relationships across our public services.

Itinerary

We’ll meet at Waverley Station, Edinburgh on Thursday 30 January 2020.

Depart Edinburgh Waverley – 10:54am    Arrive Tweedbank – 11:49am

Depart Tweedbank – 12:59pm    Arrive Edinburgh Waverley – 1:54pm

Please note, you will not be required to purchase a train ticket – this cost is covered for session participants. Spaces are limited and will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Please notice you will have approximately 1hr between arriving at destination and departing. Please bring a packed lunch or utilise the many options for refreshments available in Galashiels (which is the train stop just a few minutes before Tweedbank).
