In October 2022 the Scottish Parliaments Health, Social Care and Sport Committee launched a call for views on the Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland Bill which seeks to establish a new Parliamentary Commissioner, the Patient Safety Commissioner for Scotland, independent of the NHS and government.
