We’ve produced a series of new guides for employers that they can use to support their care at home and housing support workers when they apply for SSSC registration.
Support workers in care at home and housing support services need to apply for registration with us by 13 December 2019 to guarantee their application is processed before the mandatory date for registration.
The new guides are:
- a presentation outlining who we are, what registration means, the Codes of Practice and how to start your application
- a ‘time to apply for registration’ leaflet so workers know what information they need to start their application
- an application flowchart which shows the process and timescales for the registration process
- a step-by-step guide to applying for registration using MySSSC.

We guarantee we’ll process all applications received before Friday 13 December 2019 before the mandatory deadline of 30 September 2020.
Remember the 13 December 2019 deadline doesn’t apply to new workers, they must still apply for registration as soon as practicable after starting their role to make sure they are registered within their first six months.
