The Minister for Children and Young People, Maree Todd MSP, today announced the appointment of Alexandra Graham Campbell as Convener of the Scottish Social Services Council.

Current Convener, Professor Jim McGoldrick’s time in this post ends in September 2019 and Ms Campbell will take up the role.

SSSC Convener, Professor Jim McGoldrick said:

“Congratulations to Alexandra on her appointment as my successor at the SSSC in September. She brings a wealth of experience of social work, social care and health to this central role, leading an organisation that regulates over 130,000 social service workers in Scotland. I have thoroughly enjoyed my time with the SSSC. I know that my colleagues on the SSSC’s Council and the dedicated staff will welcome Alexandra in her new role.”

Lorraine Gray, SSSC Chief Executive said:

“Along with the senior leadership team and all SSSC staff, I look forward to welcoming Alexandra to the SSSC when Jim hands over the role in a few weeks’ time. Alexandra joins us at an exciting time as we start to prepare our new strategic plan and set our direction for the next three years.”
