Search the Register

How to search

You can search using first name or surname or town of employment or a Scottish Social Services Council registration number.

To view an individual’s full details, simply click their registration number. You will be able to see:

  • the type of service they work in
  • level of job role they work in
  • any fitness to practise decisions relating to them
  • information about specialist awards held by social workers.

There are more than 174,000 people on our Register which means you may get thousands of returns for a very general search, for example, searching for all social care workers registered with Glasgow as their town of employment or for all social workers.

Your search results will be more accurate if you add more details into the search fields, such as first name, surname, town of employment and Register part.

If your search returns more than 5,000 rows, the load more results button will appear when you go to last page of your search results, for example page 500 or 1,000 and so on.

*Remember to clear the search form after getting your results to start a new search.

Other regulators

People in the social care and the children and young people workforce might register with another regulator, for example the Nursing and Midwifery Council or the General Teaching Council of Scotland, so they won’t be on our Register. There are also other regulators covering the social care and children and young people workforce and other health professionals outside Scotland.
