Who is the event for?
This event is aimed primarily at SSSC registered workers, however it may be of interest to managers and employers who don’t register with us.
You can attend two workshop sessions. Please indicate your preference of workshops, we’ll do our best to accommodate your choices. Spaces will be allocated on a first-come basis. The workshops are:
Registration – our future together
The sector is changing and we’d like to support you with those changes. We will share our registration journey and want to hear about your experience of registration so far so we can work together to improve.
Come and meet our friendly Registration Team who are happy to help answer your questions.
Fitness to practise – what does it mean?
Come along to find out more about the Codes of Practice, in practice. What do the Codes mean to you? This session is an opportunity to share examples of good practice and to bring the Codes to life. An element of the workshop will put a spotlight on social media in relation to your fitness to practise... to tweet or not to tweet?
Post registration training and learning (PRTL)
What is PRTL and why it is important for social service workers? We will also discuss what can be included in your PRTL and the range of resources which can help you.
What is changing about PRTL requirements? We’re reviewing our approach to PRTL. We will provide an update of the review so far and discuss how we can work together to improve the system.
As part of our role in promoting learning, we support the use and development of practice guidance for social service workers. In 2019/20 we will identify what already exists and raise awareness of this, work with stakeholders to identify any gaps, and establish a plan for developing new guidance.
Join us at this interactive workshop to discuss what kind of guidance you need to support your practice – the subject areas, what it might look like, and how you’d like us to work with you to support its use.
