Required registration

The Scottish Government carried out a consultation at the end of 2008 on the dates for introducing required registration.  As a result, the Regulation of Care (Fitness of Employees in Relation to Care Services) (Scotland) (No 2) Regulations 2009 came into force on 30 April 2009 meaning workers in the table below will now be required to register with the SSSC.

 

 

Don't leave it too late... take action today!

To guarantee registration in time, workers must have their applications in to the SSSC by the submission dates below.

Workers in care home services for adults
Managers 31 May 2009 30 November 2009
Supervisors 30 September 2011 30 March 2012
Practitioners 28 September 2012 29 March 2013
Support workers 30 September 2014 30 September 2015
Workers in adult day care centres
Managers 31 May 2009 30 November 2009
Workers in day care of children services
Managers and lead practitioners 31 May 2010 30 November 2010
Practitioners 30 September 2010 30 September 2011
Support workers 31 December 2013 30 June 2014
