Do you have good judgement and analytical skills? Are you a great communicator? If you can answer yes to these questions, then read on!
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registers and regulates social service workers. Social service workers must comply with the SSSC's Code of Practice.
We wish to recruit people who are registered or eligible to register with the SSSC in the following parts of the Register:
- Residential child care workers
- Managers of school care accommodation services
to join our Registration and Conduct Committees. The Registration and Conduct Sub-committees deal with cases concerning the character, conduct and competence of social service workers who have applied for registration with the SSSC and the suitability of registrants to remain on the Register.
Applicants must have a strong commitment to the public interest and maintaining professional standards, and must demonstrate good analytical and communication skills. The ability to remain focused and apply good judgement impartially in complex cases is essential.
Members will sit for about 12 days per year. Hearings are usually held in Dundee. Training will be provided.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to equality of opportunity.
These posts are excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
For further information or an application pack, please contact Suzanne Kettles, Committee Services Administrator on 01382 207 185 or email suzanne.kettles@sssc.uk.com
Application forms must be returned by 10 March 2011.
