We have managed the Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) and the Health and Social Care (HSC) Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) since 2008 and worked closely with employers to bring the frameworks up to date. There are revised frameworks for MAs in CCLD, HSC and Leadership and Management for Care. These MAs help apprentices to gain qualifications for the skills they develop, to meet the needs of people who use social services.
The following new frameworks will be introduced on 15 October 2009:
- Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Level 3)
- Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Level 4)
- Health and Social Care (Level 2)
- Health and Social Care (Level 3)
- Health and Social Care (Level 4)
Carole Wilkinson, Chief Executive of the SSSC said “As Skills for Care and Development, the sector skills council for the social care, children and young people's workforces in Scotland we welcome the revised frameworks. Social services has a growing workforce which has already demonstrated a commitment to its own learning and training and through its work contributes to the development and learning of thousands of children as well as providing essential support for families and adults.
“It is crucial that workers have the skills for their rewarding and demanding care roles. The revised MA frameworks will improve outcomes for our children, families and people who use services."
