The recognition of prior learning in social services survey 2010

The Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Social Services guidance and resources were developed by the Scottish Social Services Council as part of the development work to support the implementation of the Scottish Credit and Qualifications Framework (SCQF) within the social services sector. The purpose of the RPL project was to engage social services workers who lack confidence as learners and/or are reluctant to undertake formal learning and to speed up and streamline the process of RPL for credit towards qualifications, such as the SVQ Health and Social Care.

The Scottish Social Service Council Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) interest group would like to find out about the current use of processes and resources to recognise prior learning in the social services. We would also like to find out about your views on the potential use of RPL processes.

It is clear that in the social services employers and education and training providers have a range of materials, resources and processes for helping employees and learners recognise the learning they have achieved from their past and current experience. We would like to find out about your use of all of these processes and resources. This includes resources developed by employers, by colleges and Higher Education Institutions and by training providers.

The survey is now closed.
