A delegation from China visited the SSSC on Friday 14 January.
The delegates visited the UK on a fact finding mission and seeking information and discussion surrounding the work and practice of the SSSC which is the body responsible for the regulation and development of Scotland's social service workforce. The delegates met the SSSC Policy and Public Affairs Manager, Lorraine Gray and Tony Doyle, Education and Workforce Development Adviser, who specialises in international qualification and standards, as well as other staff members.
During their visit the delegates were briefed on the work of the SSSC and its responsibilities. This included how the SSSC is working to promote high standards and raise public confidence through developing a trained and trusted social service workforce.
They also found out more about the development and implementation of the SSSC Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers, registration of social service workers and current projects like the Continuous Learning Framework for social services and the new Workforce Solutions Portal.
