The Sector Skills Assessment for the social services sector in Scotland has been developed by the SSSC as part of Skills for Care and Development, the sector skills council for the social services sector.
The assessment examines the sector's skills needs and outlines:
- what is driving the skills demand
- current skills needs
- future trends which will have skills implications for the workforce.
Through a series of focus groups, our stakeholders provided their views on the current and future skills needs of the social services sector in Scotland. Their views included:
- what drives skills demand in social services
- what are the current and future key skills that the sector requires
- what are the implications of an aging population on the future of the workforce.
