As a result of our Re-imagining Project and feedback from stakeholders, we are currently exploring how we engage with the sector on key workforce issues. We're particularly keen to explore new ways of engaging with private and voluntary sector social service providers.
We see this project as a two-way process:
- We're keen to find out more about priority areas of concern and interest for employers, particularly in terms of workforce issues, including: registration; education and training; and workforce planning/development. The results will inform our future work and contribute to our publications.
- We're looking for opportunities to highlight the support that the SSSC can provide to your organisation, including, for example, the Codes of Practice; Registration and Post Registration Training and Learning (PRTL); the Continuous Learning Framework; the Leadership and Management Action Plan; workforce planning; the Promoting Excellence dementia guidance and access to sources of support for workforce development.
- We would like to explore how employers engage with the SSSC so you can influence and contribute to our work. We would also like to explore whether we have a facilitative role in employers' engagement with each other.
We'll also take the opportunity to discuss how the SSSC can support your organisation both now and in future.
We're keen to identify opportunities to meet with a wide range of employers from across the social services sector, either individually or via existing forums and networks. We'd like to hear from you if you would find it helpful to meet to discuss these issues or if you can identify existing networks or forums that may welcome a visit from the SSSC.
- If your organisation is in the private sector please contact Neil Macleod, Education and Workforce Development Adviser (neil.macleod@sssc.uk.com, 07798665563)
- If you work in the voluntary sector please contact John Yellowlees, Education and Workforce Development Adviser (john.yellowlees@sssc.uk.com, 07920088928)
We look forward to hearing from you.
