Only three weeks until the Care Accolades 2010 winners are announced

The judges have met, the finalists have been picked, twenty social service projects now have an exciting wait to hear if they are winners of one of the exceptional Care Accolades 2010 awards.

Every year the Care Accolades recognises and celebrates the effort and commitment put in by social service organisations and their workers in delivery outstanding services. Organised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), the finalists for this year's awards show the investment put into the social service workforce and the achievement of putting people who use social service at the forefront of workers and organisations goals.  This year's innovative finalists include social service organisations from the voluntary, private and local authority sector.

Garry Coutts, chair of the Care Accolades 2010 judging panel said:

‘With the high quality and range of entries to the Care Accolades 2010, the judges had an extremely difficult time choosing the finalists and winners for this year's event.

‘Social service organisations face many challenges but many make a real positive impact on the lives of people who use services. The Care Accolades helps to raise the profile of these organisations and gives the shortlisted finalists a chance to show off their innovative projects and recognise the commitment and dedication of people who work in the sector.‘

The finalists will find out who has won at the award-winning Care Accolades lunch and award ceremony presented by Radio Scotland host Kaye Adams on the 11 June 2010 at the Macdonald Aviemore Highland Resort.
