Could your organisation or team be a Scottish Care Accolades 2011 winner this year? Social service teams and organisations can now enter their projects and showcase their work at Scotland's only national care sector awards.
The awards, organised by the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC), give social service organisations such as nurseries and care homes for older people the chance to be recognised as the best in the sector.
Barnardo's Works by Barnardo's Scotland and Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) scooped the overall winner award in 2010 for its project which overcomes obstacles and barriers by working together to improve the confidence and life chances giving young people the chance to achieve independent employment.
Elizabeth McShane, Barnardo's Scotland talks about winning the award and the event,
"We found it to be a great experience for staff, people who use the service and the organisation. The young people got a huge boost to their morale".
The Care Accolades is open to all social service organisations across all sectors in Scotland. Whether you work with children or adults, in a criminal justice social work service, for a local authority, a charity, voluntary or private sector organisation, you can put forward examples of excellent work for the Care Accolades.
