Scotland's Chief Medical Officer, Sir Harry Burns, has published his annual report on Scotland’s health.
The report highlights some positive trends - such as declining mortality rates in Scotland's three biggest killers - cancer, coronary heart disease and stroke. It also warns that challenges remain, particularly in addressing obesity, poor diet and excessive alcohol consumption.
