Current vacancies for due regard members
Due regard members
School care accommodation workers
Would you like to become a member of our Registration and Conduct Committees?
The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) registers and regulates social service workers. Social service workers must comply with the SSSC's Code of Practice.
We are now recruiting due regard members to join our Registration and Conduct Sub-committees, specifically school care accommodation workers who are registered or eligible to register and obtain registration with the SSSC .
The Registration and Conduct Sub-committees deal with cases concerning the character, conduct and competence of individual workers and their fitness to be registered or remain on the Register.
Applicants must have a strong commitment to public interest, and maintaining professional standards and must demonstrate good analytical and communication skills. The ability to remain focused and apply good judgement impartially in complex cases is essential.
Sub-committee members must be independent of the SSSC so please do not apply if you are related to or closely associated with Council members or staff of the SSSC.
Members will sit for about 12 days per year. Hearings are usually held in Dundee and training will be provided.
We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to equality of opportunity.
These posts are excepted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974.
For further information or an application pack, please contact Suzie Arlett on 01382 207185 or email suzannah.arlett@sssc.uk.com
Application forms must be returned by Friday 19 February 2010. |
