Practice Learning Qualifications (PLQ/PLQ (SS)) Materials Development
Aim
To make PLQ/PLQ (SS) awards more accessible for people who use services and for carers. Objectives
- To scope the challenges in accessing and achieving the PLQ/PLQ (SS) with reference to Stage1, SCQF level 7 as an illustrative model.
- To identify how obstacles in accessing and achieving the PLQ/PLQ (SS) can be minimised and opportunities maximised, including reference to Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
- To demonstrate objective 2 through the virtual experiences/pathways of 3 discrete learners.
Principles
- Materials must be developed in partnership with people who use services and carers, who also have some experience of involvement in the learning and development of social services workers.
- Materials must take cognisance of the relevant equality legislation, including Part 2 of the Disability Discrimination Act, particularly as it relates to education and training.
- Materials must be written to be appropriate for e-learning and include audio/visual/interactive components which can be progressed by a specialist developer.
Interfaces
Interfaces will be with any college/centre which is developing a stage 1 SCQF, level 7 award.
Outcomes
Outcomes will be e- learning/guidance materials which enhance the accessibility of PLQ/PLQ (SS) for people who use services and carers.Costs
