Scottish Ministers have announced that managers of care at home services will be included in the scope of registration with the SSSC.  The SSSC will consult with the sector in the autumn regarding the qualifications for managers of care at home services.

The Register will open in December 2010 for managers of care at home services for adults.

Managers of housing support services

Registration of managers of housing support services will be delayed from autumn 2009 until December 2010.  This will allow managers of care at home services and managers of housing support services to be registered at the same time.  Supervisors in housing support services and housing support workers will register following managers.  More detailed timescales will be set nearer the time.

It is important that housing support workers continue to work towards gaining qualifications for registration despite the delay in commencement of registration.
