The Scottish Child Care and Protection Network (SCCPN) is currently conducting a consultation to identify what practitioners see as priorities for research and what helps them to access evidence for practice.

SSSC Annual Report

The Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) has published its Annual Report for 2007-2008. This Annual Report provides an overview of our work in our seventh year of operation and highlights our successes throughout the year and the substantial progress we have made in all areas of work.

Funding for voluntary groups

Over 120 voluntary support groups across Scotland are to benefit from a £1.2 million cash injection.

Winners of Scotland’s accolades for social services announced in Dundee today

The cream of Scotland’s social service teams received awards today (5 June 2009) which recognise the excellent work carried out every day. Social services are at the heart of our communities and the projects showcased at Care Accolades 2009 highlighted the difference these services are making across a range of services including palliative care, older people and children’s services and services for people with learning difficulties.

PLQ(SS) Approval Panels

The dates of the approval panels for PLQ(SS) have been set through until March 2009. In order to assist the process, all paperwork relating to this must be with the SSSC six weeks prior to the panel meeting. This will allow adequate support time to be built in for the panel members. The composition of the panels will consist of HEI/FE representatives, employers and representatives from service users/carers. The panels will be chaired by the SSSC.
