Promoting the Codes

We've developed lots of different resources to raise awareness of the Codes of Practice.  This includes resources for:

Codes of Practice for managers, people who use care home services for adults and their families

We've developed new resources to raise awareness of the SSSC Code of Practice among people who use care home services for adults and their families to let them know the standards they can expect from the people who care for and work with them.

All managers of care home services for adults and relevant organisations who provide help and advice and advocacy will receive our Giving you confidence in care resource pack with posters, leaflets and tips on how to promote the Codes in services. The Code sets out clear standards for workers and how they should behave towards the people they care for. It is vital that people who use services know about the standards and what to do if they have concerns about a social service worker.

The resource pack includes:

C.O.D.Y. is our robot who will make sure that if you are in looked after children service you know about the Code of Practice for Social Service Workers.  This is a set of standards for all social service workers including those working in residential care services for children and young people. It is important that you know all about them. Find out more by watching my videos and you can ask me questions on the Code too on my website.

Confidence in care

We have produced posters and a pocket size leaflet as part of our campaign to raise awareness of the SSSC Code of Practice.

The SSSC Codes of Practice set out clear standards for workers and how they should behave towards the people they care for. It is vital that people who use services know about the standards and what to do if they have concerns about a social service worker.

People who use services and their families need to be aware:

  • that there are standards of conduct and practice that they can expect from social service workers
  • what to do if their worker does not follow the standards set out in the Codes of Practice.

Please support the campaign by displaying the posters in a place where people who use the service can see them and handing the credit card sized leaflets to parents, carers and people who use your services.

You can order copies of the posters and pocket size leaflet or download them below.
