Application fee
You will pay a fee for applying for initial registration on any part of the Register. If your application is refused for any reason, the fees you have paid will not be returned.
Annual fee
Once you are registered, you will pay an annual fee to retain your name on the Register.
Failure to pay your annual fee may result in your registration being lapsed. You would then have to re-apply for registration.
Renewal fee
Your registration period will last for a fixed period from your date of registration. Before your registration period expires, you will be invited to renew your registration. This is the fee for renewing your registration. Social work students are not required to renew their registration and therefore do not have to pay this fee.
Failure to pay your renewal fee and complete and return your renewal form may result in your registration being lapsed. You would then have to re-apply for registration.
If you have any queries about registration fees please contact us on 0845 60 30 891 or registration@sssc.uk.com
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) fee
As part of the application process, employers are asked to confirm they have either a Disclosure Scotland or a Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme record check for the applicant in relation to the post the member of staff is seeking registration for. Employers will need to provide the dates and unique reference numbers of the disclosure or PVG scheme record number to the SSSC. If an employer is unable to provide this information the applicant will be required to become a member of the PVG scheme and pay the £59 application fee.
Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) fee for social work students
When you first apply to register we will require you to undertake a PVG scheme membership check. SSSC will pay the PVG fee for social work students on their behalf.
