How do I pay my registration fees?

You are charged fees to register and maintain your registration on the Register of Social Service Workers.

The fee amount will vary depending on which part of the Register you are eligible to register upon. Workers are registered according to the role they perform.  View definitions of Register parts

How to pay

Online

Direct Debit

Direct Debit is the most convenient way to pay and is covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee.  If you wish to pay your fee by Direct Debit, please choose the option Direct Debit in the Fees and Payments section of the form.  Complete the Direct Debit instruction which will be printed with your application form and return it to the SSSC with your application form.  Write your unique application reference number printed on your form in the bottom left corner of each page (usually your National Insurance number) on the back of your Direct Debit instruction.

The SSSC cannot accept Direct Debit instructions from a third party. The Direct Debit instruction must have the applicant's bank information and be signed by the applicant.

Telephone

We accept debit and credit card payments by telephone.

Telephone Lo-call 0845 60 30 891, 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (10am to 5pm Wednesday).

Please quote your unique application reference number printed on your form in the bottom left corner of each page (usually your National Insurance number).

Cheque/postal order

Enclose a cheque or postal order made payable to ‘The Scottish Social Services Council’ with your application form.  Write your unique application reference number printed on your form in the bottom left corner of each page (usually your National Insurance number) on the back of your cheque or postal order.

The SSSC does not accept cash payments.
