Important changes for people applying for registration with the SSSC
On 10 September 2015 the Scottish Government changed the law about what convictions someone needs to declare in certain situations eg applying for some types of jobs, applying for registration with the SSSC.
Before this date, we asked people applying to register to tell us about all convictions they had even those that are ‘spent’ (ignored or forgotten).
Are you applying for registration?
You may not have to tell us about all of your convictions. You can find out more about this and the convictions that need to be declared on the Disclosure Scotland website or by reading our guidance Criminal Conviction Guidance.
When you apply please make sure you have read and understood the information from Disclosure Scotland before you complete your application and submit it to us.
You can find a list of questions and answers for both employers and workers here.
