About Modern Apprenticeships
The SSSC, as Skills for Care and Development, manages the frameworks for Health and Social Care and Children's Care, Learning and Development (formerly Early Years Care and Education).
Modern Apprenticeships (MAs) offer people the chance of paid employment linked with the opportunity to train for jobs at craft, technician and management level.
The Health and Social Care (HSC) MAs are available to all people over the age of 16 and the Children’s Care, Learning and Development (CCLD) MAs are available to people aged between 16 and 19.
Revised frameworks
We have managed the CCLD and the HSC MAs since 2008 and worked closely with employers to bring the frameworks up to date.
There are revised frameworks for MAs in CCLD, HSC and Leadership and Management for Care:
- Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Level 3)
- Children’s Care, Learning and Development (Level 4)
- Health and Social Care (Level 2)
- Health and Social Care (Level 3)
- Health and Social Care (Level 4)
These MAs help apprentices to gain qualifications for the skills they develop, to meet the needs of people who use social services.
Updated forms and documents in relation to the above MAs can be downloaded by clicking on the relevant document on the right hand side. If the document you require is not there please contact the SSSC
