Registration Rules and Conduct Rules

The Registration Rules explain how social service workers are placed on the Register. The Conduct Rules set down how we will investigate and hold hearings about allegations of misconduct against registrants.

The current rules are:

  • SSSC Registration Rules 2012
The 2012 Registration Rules revoke the 2011 Rules and apply to applications for registration or renewal of registration, or referrals to a Registration Sub-committee received on or after 27 March 2012.  However, for any application received before this date, the 2011 Registration Rules will still apply.

  • SSSC Conduct Rules 2013
The 2013 Conduct Rules revoke the 2012 Rules and apply to any new conduct case which is referred or transferred to a Sub-committee hearing on or after 15 May 2013.
