Funding sources to support training and workforce development
There are number of potential funding sources available to employers, employees and individuals to support training and development. Please read the Funding and Support for Training guide
There are two newly appointed Intermediate Administration Bodies designated to administer the 2007-13 Structural Funds programmes in Scotland:
The Intermediate Administration Bodies are the principal bodies to provide advice and assistance to applicants.
The way funding is distributed varies. Some funding is allocated directly to organisations whilst other funding can be applied for by individuals and organisations. Whilst all of the funding resources listed can potentially benefit training and development of the social services workforce we have outlined who the funding is available to.
It may also be helpful to contact Scottish Enterprise or Highlands and Islands Enterprise to find out what support, funding or training they may be able to offer you or your organisation.
Access widened to Individual Learning Accounts (ILAs)
Changes being made to the Individual Learning Accounts Scotland Scheme which will be available to learners in the 2009-10 academic year now mean that:
- the income threshold will be increased from £18,000 to £22,000
- the minimum study requirement for the ILA £500 grant will be reduced from 50% of a full-time course to 40 SCQF Credits
- eligible students studying part-time taught postgraduate courses (SCQF level 11) will be supported through the ILA500 scheme.
