Our role is to increase the protection of people who use social services, to raise standards of practice and to increase public confidence in the sector.

Codes of Practice

Codes of Practice
The SSSC publishes Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers. These are standards of conduct and practice which all social service workers and their employers must follow. The Codes of Practice were produced in consultation with service users, lawyers and the Plain English Campaign.

Evaluation of Codes of Practice

We are currently evaluating the use of the SSSC Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers.  Find out more about how you can participate and complete the online survey here.

The SSSC developed the Codes of Practice with the General Social Care Council.  A range of languages and formats are available.  If you would like the Codes of Practice in another format or language please call 0845 60 30 891 or visit the General Social Care Council's website.
