Welcome to the Scottish Social Services Council. The SSSC is responsible for registering people who work in social services in Scotland and regulating their education and training. Our role is to increase the protection of people who use social services, to raise standards of practice and to increase public confidence in the sector.

Codes of Practice
The SSSC publishes Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers. These are standards of conduct and practice which all social service workers and their employers must follow. The Codes of Practice were produced in consultation with service users, lawyers and the Plain English Campaign.

Evaluation of Codes of Practice

We are currently evaluating the use of the SSSC Codes of Practice for Social Service Workers and Employers.  Find out more about how you can participate and complete the online survey here.
